Description

What will it be like when you walk, or Zoom, into an interview for an academic job? Navigating the interview process can be a daunting and highly competitive endeavor. In this workshop from the Academic Job Search Demystified series, we will focus on unpacking the academic job interview process, a pivotal stage in your journey towards becoming a faculty member.

By participating in this workshop students will:

  • Gain understanding of the academic interview process and expectations.
  • Learn strategies for how to confidently communicate your scholarly accomplishments and pedagogical approach.
  • Discuss how to address common, challenging, or unexpected questions gracefully.

This is part of a six-part series during the 2023-24 academic year: Preparing for your Application Materials; Preparing your Job Talk; Preparing a Teaching Demonstration; Preparing for a Multiple Day Interview; Etiquette, Communicative Competence, and Professionalism; Negotiating your Job Offer.
