This program is designed for students with a passion for sports, entertainment, and the creation of unforgettable experiences. The Bachelor of Science (BS) in Sport Hospitality Management in the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality serves as an academic launchpad for students into one of the fastest-growing sectors in the industry. Through experiential learning and industry collaboration, the curriculum is designed to inspire, challenge, and equip students for a lifetime of professional growth.
Students in this innovative program will blend the worlds of sport, entertainment, and hospitality management, gaining the skills needed to manage sport organizations, run major events, and lead guest-focused operations. Students will build a strong foundation through courses like Introduction to Sport & Entertainment Industries, Foundations of Hospitality, Leadership, Customer Experience, Sport & Arena Management, Sport Analytics, Hospitality Innovation, and Law, along with key topics such as marketing, career development, and financial accounting.
Classroom learning comes to life through a required internship in sport hospitality, which gives you critical real-world experience with practicing industry professionals. The program is capped off with a senior culminating course where students apply their knowledge to tackle real challenges in the sport hospitality field.
With 31 elective credits, students will have the freedom to customize their degree—whether they are drawn to event operations, analytics, venue management, guest experience design, or another area of interest within sport hospitality.
By graduation, students will be able to move into their careers as well-rounded, adaptable professionals who understand both the strategy and the day-to-day operations of sport hospitality. With strong industry connections, hands-on experience, and a versatile skill set, students will be prepared to step into a wide range of exciting career opportunities.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the BS program in Sport Hospitality Management, students should be able to:
- Demonstrate effective management techniques in sport hospitality management operations.
- Manage all forms of capital (e.g. human, financial) in an ethical and sustainable way.
- Identify customer segments and key marketing concepts, and apply this knowledge to increase revenue and brand value.
- Apply leadership theories and principles in the management of teams, programs, staff, and events.
- Analyze financial, marketing, and operational results and outcomes for sport hospitality management operations.
- Plan and execute sport events, tournaments, and conferences with a key focus on the logistics, finances, scheduling, and vendor relations.
- Communicate effectively in written, spoken, visual and digital modes to different audiences (e.g. industry leaders, employees, employers, faculty, and peers).
- Describe and assess the legal risks associated with common sport hospitality management business practices and events and identify appropriate risk management techniques and employment practices to minimize those risks.
- Design sustainable components or practice for the sport hospitality management business.
