About

This Undergraduate Certificate in German Language focuses on learning German language skills and developing a strong foundation for the effective use of the language socially and professionally. This program should be of particular interest to students considering careers in government service, hospitality, international business, journalism, media, music, STEM fields, tourism, or other professions where proficiency in a second language is necessary.

Learning Outcomes

  • Listen, speak, read and write effectively in German in a variety of contexts to the B2 (CEFR)/Intermediate High (ACTFL) level.
  • Cultivate literary, metalinguistic, and cultural understanding of the German language and cultures of German-speaking countries to broaden learners’ perspectives. 
  • Develop sociocultural awareness and interpersonal skills to compete in today’s multilingual world.
