With over 580 hours of community service and over $4,000 donated to philanthropic efforts, the Alpha Delta Pi Sorority was a recipient of both the Scarlet Heart and Scarlet Star awards at UNLV this year. Examples of their efforts include donating thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of volunteer service to the Ronald McDonald House. Nationally, Alpha Delta Pi was recognized for seven Chapter Excellence Awards at their Grand Convention. This is Alpha Delta Pi’s third consecutive Excellence Ribbon here at UNLV, and an honorable distinction highlighting the importance of this chapter here on campus. This level of continued excellence earns Alpha Delta Pi the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over 1800 hours of community service, Alpha Epsilon Delta was a recipient of the Scarlet Star award at UNLV this year. Committees in Alpha Epsilon Delta accomplished many great works to help the community around Las Vegas. Some notable milestones include: Collecting 216 bone marrow swabs and finding 6 donor matches representing potential life-saving transplants for patients in need; Donating 177 summer items to the LV Rescue Mission and assembling 400 hygiene kits for unhoused community members; Collecting 170 units of blood through blood drives; Conducting several community healthcare trainings and education workshops. This level of community improvement earns Alpha Epsilon Delta the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over 150 hours of community service, Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was a recipient of the Gray Star award at UNLV this year. Examples of this service include Thanksgiving turkey giveaways, local food pantry assistance, park cleanups in the Las Vegas community, and educational programs with local elementary schools. In their Western Regional Conference, their “Miss Black and Gold Pageant” winner earned the Western Regional Title. At the NPHC award Ceremony, they received multiple awards including “Chapter of the Year” and “Best Program of the Year”. Individual members also received awards including the President’s Award, the Unity Award, and the Rising Leader Award. This level of chapter achievement earns Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over 287 hours of community service and Over $9,600 donated to philanthropic efforts, the Alpha Xi Delta Sorority was a recipient of both the Scarlet Heart and Scarlet Star awards at UNLV this year. Examples of their efforts include donating thousands of dollars and hundreds of hours of volunteer service to Shannon West Homeless Youth Center. Alpha Xi Delta hosted multiple charity events and days of service for this organization by making over 300 hygiene care kits and donating over 2000 items of men’s clothing for the male residents. This level of community service and commitment to helping our unhoused community members earns Alpha Xi Delta the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over 700 hours of community service and over $5,000 donated to philanthropic efforts, Circle K was a recipient of both the Scarlet Heart and Scarlet Star awards at UNLV this year. Circle K also won the Excellence Ribbon last year, which shows their repeated value as an RSO on UNLV’s campus. Examples of their efforts include hosting a 24 hour service event collaborating with 10 other RSOs on campus and hosting a charity dinner which raised thousands of dollars to help end period poverty in the community. Circle K also received several awards at their district convention including 1st place for “Outstanding Single Service Project” and 1st place for “Kiwanis Family Relations”. This level of community service and philanthropy efforts to the Southern Nevada community earns Circle K the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over $9,000 raised and donated to philanthropic efforts, Epsilon Alpha Sigma Sorority was a recipient of the Scarlet Heart award at UNLV this year. As a small RSO, having less than 10 total members throughout the year, Epsilon Alpha Sigma Sorority showcased just how powerful and effective a small but dedicated group of students can be when they commit to a shared mission. They hosted a charity banquet dinner that raised over $9,000 in a single night to be donated to the RahmaWorldwide foundation, helping to send aid to areas in need. This display of philanthropy and excellence while working with such a limited number of chapter members earns Epsilon Alpha Sigma the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over 60 hours of community service, Rebel Ice Hockey was awarded the Gray Star award at UNLV this year. Additionally, Rebel Ice Hockey donated thousands of tickets to their games to the Clark County School District for their home games. By volunteering at schools and spending time with children who have life-threatening illnesses, the Rebels Hockey Team shows they are excellent both on and off the ice. Regarding their on-ice performance, Rebel Ice Hockey Club went undefeated at home and finished as a top 5 team in the country. Collegiate sports garner lots of attention, but as a sports club on campus, Rebel Ice Hockey brings national attention to UNLV RSOs and showcase that greatness is possible at all levels of sport. This commitment to excellence is why the WCHL Champion Rebel Ice Hockey Club earns the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over 200 hours of community service and $450 donated to philanthropic efforts, Sigma Omega Nu Sorority was a recipient of both the Gray Heart and Gray Star award at UNLV this year. Examples of their efforts include serving at Red Cross National blood drives and supporting various community organizations including Three Square, Just One Project, Project 150, All Friends Animal Sanctuary, Opportunity Village, and others. Sigma Omega Nu brought national attention to UNLV from their organization by coming in first place for “Most Community Service Hours” and “Highest Chapter GPA”. This level of performance earns Sigma Omega Nu Sorority the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over 250 hours of community service, Student Nutrition and Dietetic Association was awarded the Scarlet Star award at UNLV this year. Examples of their service include distributing over 100,000 lbs of food to over 9,000 in the UNLV community and also the surrounding community at the UNLV farmer’s market. Student Nutrition and Dietetic Association also hosted healthy nutrition presentations across the community, partnering with Kirk Kerkorian Medical School, UNLV ROTC students, UNLV Farmer’s Market, and Career Services resume workshop. This level of community service and philanthropy efforts to the Southern Nevada community earns Student Nutrition and Dietetic Association the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over 210 hours of community service, UNLV Men’s Volleyball was awarded the Gray Star award at UNLV this year. Examples of their service include refereeing tournaments for local clubs, hosting skills clinics for the local youth community, and helping set up and clean up local volleyball gyms for events that local orgs host UNLV Men’s Volleyball at. On the court, UNLV Men’s Volleyball excelled in competition including participating in the 3 western invite competitions, finishing top of the copper bracket in the West Region Championships in Las Vegas, and finishing top of the silver bracket in the NCVF Nationals. This commitment to excellence on and off the court earns UNLV Men’s Volleyball the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

With over 150 hours of community service, VAW Global Health Alliance was awarded the Gray Star award at UNLV this year. Examples of their service include traveling to Oaxaca in January 2026 where they helped local doctors and staff set up pop-up clinics in rural communities across Oaxaca. The pop-up sites included 4 stations: intake, vitals, shadowing, and pharmacy. This trip also included visiting local schools and assisting the children there. This trip assisted over 200 locals in only 3 days, providing necessary medical support and improving the lives of those in the community. This level of service on the trip to Oaxaca, partnered with their service at Opportunity Village, Spread the Word Nevada, RAM Clinic, and Hope in Action earns VAW Global Health Alliance - Medical Chapter the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.

Women in Cyber Security (WiCyS) at UNLV were absolute powerhouse leaders in the world of innovation and success for the WiCyS community. By hosting over 34 distinct events in the year, the UNLV chapter was flaunted nationally with recognition stating that they “set a breathtaking standard for activity” and were repeatedly praised for their involvement with global conferences. UNLV’s WiCyS won the “National 2026 Student Chapter of the Year” award from the International WiCys organization at their conference in Maryland this year. UNLV’s WiCyS chapter also came in first place nationally at the NCAE Cyber Games invitational with over 1,100 members in competition. The team also took first place in Temple University’s Social Engineering Competition, resulting in two members being invited to compete in the DEF CON Social Engineering Community Vishing Contest where they placed 5th overall. This display of national success earns WiCyS Student Chapter the 2026 Excellence Ribbon.
