Cate Weeks is director of print and electronic publications in the University communications office. She is the chief content editor, feature writer, and architect of the UNLV News Center. She also oversees UNLV Today, the daily newsletter for faculty and staff; and UNLV Magazine, the university’s flagship publication for alumni and friends.

Weeks joined UNLV in 2001 as a publications editor and from 2004-2010 also was manager of UNLV's employee communications. Prior to UNLV, she was managing editor of Recharger Magazine, a trade journal serving the printer consumables industry. She started her career as a reporter and features editor at newspapers in Iowa City, Iowa; Andalusia, Alabama; Natchez, Mississippi; and Gallup, New Mexico.

She is a first-generation college student and graduated from New Mexico State University with a degree in journalism. She spends much of her free time shuttling her two boys around and trying in vain to expand their astonishingly bland palates.
