Held in October each year during Cybersecurity Awareness Month, CyberWeek @ UNLV is a multi-day showcase of cybersecurity and technology innovation, drawing students, faculty, professionals, and industry leaders together to explore careers, current events, and partnerships in cybersecurity. With programming that spans keynotes, panel discussions, student showcases, competitions, and recruitment fairs, there are events to benefit every student regardless of their primary discipline or class level. CCSD students, as well as those from the College of Southern Nevada and Nevada State University are invited and encouraged to attend appropriate events.

Connecting Students and Professionals

Some of the various events taking place during CyberWeek include:

Cyber/Tech Panel

As part of CyberWeek @ UNLV, students join leaders from professional and student cybersecurity organizations and learn more about careers, resources and opportunities in the field. They hear directly from each organization about what they do and the benefits of getting involved.

Tech Recruitment Fair

The Tech Recruitment Fair is a networking mixer/recruitment event for computer science and business students from all majors to meet employers wishing to recruit and hire talented students for internships and jobs. This event gives students the opportunity to network with industry professionals and learn about open jobs and internships in relevant fields.

CISO Panel & Speed Interviewing

This multi-part event is designed to connect students with cybersecurity leaders and career opportunities in a high-impact, real-world format that includes a moderated panel discussion, speed interviews, and a VIP reception.

CCSD & UNLV Tech Day

Students from magnet business and tech schools are invited to the UNLV campus for a day-long event that not only introduces them to all the university has to offer but engages them in specific tech activities including lab tours, a panel discussion about careers in tech, and even the opportunity to take part in a CTF competition.

Capture the Flag (CTF) Competition

CTFs are a fun and challenging way for students to test and develop their cybersecurity skills. UNLV’s CyberWeek CTF invites students from all backgrounds and levels to challenge themselves and their fellow competitors, and learn new skills. Students from the College of Southern Nevada are invited to participate in this day-long competition.

E-Sports Competition Finals

CCSD, in conjunction with UNLV and Valhallan, hosts an e-sports competition at the beginning of the school year, narrowing the field of competitors down to the top teams who compete at UNLV during CyberWeek. Family and friends are invited to come watch the live event and cheer on their players.
