A Multidisciplinary Approach to Cybersecurity

Nevada's cybersecurity landscape faces two significant challenges: a shortage of skilled professionals and a high incidence of cybercrime. Through its award-winning degree programs, community outreach, and research efforts, UNLV is answering these challenges with a multidisciplinary approach to cybersecurity education.

Program Designations

National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity logo

The College of Engineering’s Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Information Assurance Concentration, has been redesignated as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD).

Managed by the National Cryptologic School at the National Security Agency, the goal of the program is to reduce vulnerability in our national information infrastructure by promoting higher education and research in cyber defense.
