The political science department has strong commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service. The department’s faculty members are active researchers who publish widely in the discipline. In addition, several faculty members have received awards for teaching and service.

The department provides undergraduate students with a broad training in political science. Our undergraduate curriculum prepares students for advanced graduate study and for careers in several fields. The department’s internship program — which is one of the largest in the College of Liberal Arts — provides students with opportunities in several different fields.

The department also offers M.A. and Ph.D. programs. Graduate students in the program frequently enjoy opportunities for teaching. In addition, many students engage in collaborative research with faculty members.
