Karen Deol is an Assistant Instructional Designer with the Office of Online Education. She joins us from Vancouver, Canada where she held a faculty teaching position in both health and applied business departments at Vancouver Community College. Karen holds a B.A. in Arts with a major in Psychology from the University of British Columbia, as well as a diploma in Curriculum and Instruction. Currently, she is pursuing a Master of Arts in International Relations at Harvard. Her research interests include contemporary challenges confronting democracies in the 21st century, along with immigration reform and corresponding US/Mexico relations.

In her spare time, Karen likes to socialize while staying up-to-date with current affairs in the international arena. She travels to seaside destinations and enjoys relaxing at the beach. At UNLV, she has found the perfect way to balance her quest for learning while designing courses with faculty from various domains.
