Juyeon Jo received her Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University in 2003. Her research expertise includes network performance analysis, secure network protocol development, and security data analytics.

She played a crucial role in establishing a cybersecurity program at UNLV and received CAE-CD designation from NSA/DHS in 2008 and 2019 as a POC for UNLV. Prof. Jo was the PI for NSA/NSF GenCyber program in 2018, 2019 and 2020, a weeklong cybersecurity summer camp for high school students.

She has authored or co-authored over 80 journal or conference papers and patents. Her research has been sponsored by the US Air Force Research Lab, NSA, DoD, NASA, NCIIA, and NSF.

In the 2018 and 2019 summers, she was selected as a summer faculty fellow at Air Force Research Lab and researched on a critical issue of communication resiliency in a satellite communication environment.

Before joining UNLV, she was an assistant professor at California State University, Sacramento (CSUS). Prior to CSUS, she was a Member of Technical Staff at Bell Laboratories. She also worked as a software engineer at Coree Networks, a start-up company developing an ultra-fast packet switch.
