Chelsie L. Hawkinson specializes in the collegiate first-year experience and students in transition. She primarily teaches first and second-year students in the First and Second-Year Seminar Program. As a long-time practitioner of first-year seminars and learning communities, her teaching and research are centered around student engagement and success. In her practice, she prioritizes student exposure to key features of high-impact educational practices that provide equitable access to learning such as frequent feedback and interaction with faculty members. Dr. Hawkinson previously served as First-Year Seminar Coordinator at Texas A&M University - Corpus Christi.
