Closing out the 49th Season, the New York Philharmonic String Quartet debuted in John Adams’ Absolute Jest in New York in March 2017. Formed during the 175th anniversary of the New York Philharmonic, the Quartet comprises the four Principal musicians from the Orchestra: Concertmaster Frank Huang; Principal Second Violin Qianqian Li; Principal Viola Cynthia Phelps; and Principal Cello Carter Brey. Each are accomplished musicians in their own right and have performed around the world.
