At UNLV, a search committee is typically used to review and recommend candidates to the hiring official. Committees are composed of individuals from the university with discipline-specific backgrounds or in-depth knowledge of the position. It is the responsibility of the search committee to review application materials, evaluate each candidate's potential for success, and make a hiring recommendation.

After you apply through Consensus, you will receive an automated response via email verifying your submission. Your resume will be forwarded to the search committee for review. If there is interest in your application, the search committee will contact you.

Due to the volume of resumes received and the number of people involved, the hiring process for faculty/professional staff at UNLV can vary greatly from several weeks to several months. We ask for your patience as we look for the best-qualified candidate. The search committee chairperson or representative will contact you if you are selected for an interview.

Due to the volume of resumes received, we are unable to contact each applicant regarding the status of each position. However, most departments will notify each applicant via email once the position is filled.

Government regulations require that UNLV track application activity. For this reason, we ask all persons seeking employment to apply through our online application system.

If you need assistance in the application process, please contact the Office of Human Resources at 702-895-3504 or applicant.inquiry@unlv.edu. For the hearing impaired, you may reach us at 1-800-326-6868 using a Telecommunications Device for the Deaf (TDD).
