Spring 2025 Arrival Information

General Check-In: January 17–18

All residents may check in from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday, January 17 and Sunday, January 18 at the front desk of their residence hall complex. No additional fees apply.

Please note: Moving assistance will not be available.

Late Check-In

For arrivals after 7 p.m., contact your complex Resident Assistant (RA)-on-duty. RA-on-duty phone numbers are posted on the exterior of all complexes. Moving assistance is not provided for late check-ins.

Arrivals After January 18

If you plan to arrive after Sunday, January 18, please contact UNLV Housing at 702-895-3489 or housing@unlv.edu to avoid having your residence hall contract canceled as a “no show” and your room assigned to someone else. Please provide your name, NSHE ID, and the date you expect to arrive.

Move-In Process

Step 1: Follow the Signs to Your Assigned Residence Hall Community

Step 2: Unload Your Vehicle

Moving equipment will be available for use. Please ensure you have a valid government I.D. to check out the equipment.

Step 3: Check-In

Proceed to the check-in site with your RebelCard to have it encoded for building and room access. Residents who do not have a RebelCard are allowed to check out a Temporary Access Card with a valid photo ID.

Step 4: Park Your Car

Directions to long-term parking will be provided after you have unloaded. Do not park in any spots marked with “Staff” or “Reserved,” or your vehicle will be subject to ticketing and/or towing. No parking pass is necessary during move-in week if you park in a designated “Student” parking spot.

Parking permits are required beginning on the first day of classes. After that date, you will be subject to ticketing. Parking permits will be available for purchase during move-in week at the Parking Services building (behind Lied Library) and online at the UNLV Parking & Transportation Services site. Resident parking permits will be available on a first-come, first-served basis while supplies last.

Step 5: Finish Moving In

Finish unpacking and arranging your belongings to make your room your home-away-from-home.

  • Establish open communication.
  • Communicate your background and lifestyle.
  • Discuss things you have in common.
  • Be respectful and courteous.
  • Spend time together and attend activities together.
  • Discuss things such as habits, study times, sharing food, sleep schedule, guests, and more.
Roommate Assignment Changes

During the third week of classes, residents can request a room change from their RA. Room assignment changes are based on the order they are received and available space. Room assignment changes will not be permitted before room change week begins.

Work Orders

If you need any technological or maintenance assistance with repairs within the residence halls, please fill out a work order request form via the Student Life Help Desk portal. Please allow 24-72 hours for all basic requests to be fulfilled.

If you need more immediate assistance for emergency repairs, please notify your complex front desk or RA-on-Duty.

WiFi

All students have access to free, high-speed WiFi that works all over campus called Eduroam. You can connect phones, tablets, and computers to this network.
