Description
The UNLV School of Nursing's annual event, A Vital Affair, honors the leaders and advocates advancing nursing and healthcare in Nevada. The event supports the School's mission to advance the science of health and healthcare through our Nurse Leaders. The evening includes a silent auction, cocktails and hors d'oeuvres, dinner, and an awards ceremony recognizing outstanding contributions to the nursing profession. This year's guest speaker is Angie Scartezina, chief nursing officer for Intermountain Children's Health.

- Clinical Excellence: Nicole Zimmer, UNLV School of Nursing
- Trailblazer: Justin LeMay, UMC and President of the School of Nursing Alumni Association
- Leadership Excellence: Debra Fox, UMC
- Nurse of the Year: Katherine Skeith, Sunrise Children’s Hospital
- Champions of Nursing: Jennifer Carmona, Silver State Pediatric Skilled Nursing Facility, and Diane Knapp, UMC
