Description
All are welcome to attend the "UNLV Faculty Cares Outdoor Teach-In: Standing with Our Undocumented Students" on Wednesday, May 7 from noon-1 p.m. on the green space by the Rose Garden (across from Ham Hall).
The event will feature live music, bracelet making and painting with UNLV Lowkey Art Therapy, and the following faculty "lightening talks" (five minutes each):
- Amy Reed-Sandoval (Associate Professor of Philosophy, UNLV): “The Ethics of Speaking Up"
- Michael Kagan (Professor and Director, UNLV Immigration Clinic): “Law, Justice, and Community"
- Tyler Parry (Associate Professor and Director, African American and African Diaspora Studies Program, UNLV): “The Importance of Coalition Building: Past, Present, and Future"
- Douglas Unger (Professor and Co-Founder, Creative Writing International Program, UNLV): “International Writers and the Promise of Freedom."
