Please join UNLV School of Music Double Reed faculty Richard Kravchak, Ph.D., and Liz Valvano, D.M.A, as we present our first double reed day!
This free event is open to all double reed, oboe and bassoon, musicians and music educators in Las Vegas.
We will have a double reed ensemble for all musicians to perform, as well as vendors exhibiting double reed items for purchase, recitals featuring current and UNLV alumni, and masterclasses with guest artists including oboist Andrea Ridilla from Miami University. We hope to see you here!

- Check-in/registration: 8-9 a.m. (lobby)
- Exhibits open: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. (lobby/hallway)
- D.R. ensemble rehearsal: 9:15-10:30 a.m. (Dr. Arturo Rando-Grillot Hall)
- Session I–Body mapping: 10:45 a.m. - noon (Caplan; Beam Music Center, Room 160)
- Session II–Music of Kincaid Rabb masterclass: 12:15-1:15 p.m. (Rabb; Beam Music Center, Room 160)
- Alumni showcase: 1:30-3 p.m. (Dr. Arturo Rando-Grillot Hall)
- Preparing your college/grad school audition: 3:15-4:15 p.m. (Ridilla; Beam Music Center, Room 160)
- Introduction to the "other" bassoons: 4:30-5:30 p.m. (Valvano, O'Connell-Baker; Beam Music Center, Room 159)
- Introduction to English horn/Oboe d’amore: 4:30-5:30 p.m. (Kravchak; Beam Music Center, Room 160)
- Dinner break: 5:30-6:15 p.m. (lobby/SAI)
