Description
Education is recognized under international law as a fundamental human right and a pathway for the realization of other rights. Yet millions worldwide continue to face barriers to access and quality in education. In this online conversation, the UN Special Rapporteur on the Right to Education, Farida Shaheed, will explore the global state of education today: who has access, who is left behind, and what governments and institutions are obligated to do under international human rights law.
Participants will gain a deeper understanding of how education intersects with democracy, sustainable development, and what accountability mechanisms exist to protect and advance this essential right.
