Office/Remote Location
Description
Responsible Conduct of Research (RCR) training is an important component of maintaining a strong culture of research integrity at UNLV.
Principal investigators and research personnel supported by grants from the National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Science Foundation (NSF), or United States Department of Agriculture-National Institute of Food and Agriculture (USDA-NIFA) are required to complete RCR training. However, all researchers are invited to attend RCR training.
What Does RCR Training Include?
The UNLV RCR Training Program requires completion of two components:
1. Online CITI Responsible Conduct of Research course
The online CITI course must be completed before attending the in-person modules. Participants have one year from the beginning of the training program to complete all required components and earn RCR certification. Certification is valid for four years from the date of completion. In-person training is offered four times each year, providing flexibility to complete the program within the required timeframe.
2. Six in-person RCR training modules in the topics shown below:
- General Ethical Responsibilities and Research Misconduct
- Conflict of Interest
- Acquisition, Sharing, and Ownership of Data
- Collaborative Research
- Publication Practices, Authorship, and Peer Review
- Mentor/Trainee Relationships
