Rebel Green: Wetlands Awareness Project

When

Oct. 4, 2025, 9am to 2pm

Office/Remote Location

Meet at the Student Union stairs in front of Starbucks.

Description

The Clark County Wetlands Park is a park bordering the edge of Henderson/East Vegas home to the Las Vegas Wash and many birds, plants and native fauna. Join UNLVolunteers as we explore this fragile ecosystem and how it helps mitigate, regulate and control our environment to provide us with a fresh place to cool us down.

We will be removing pink cones from a planting area and helping with a project opening up a new little cottonwood grove. For any birders among you, rumor has it that the long-eared owls that fled this summer’s fire may have relocated to somewhere near this cottonwood stand.

Please wear close-toed shoes, long sleeves/pants, and sun protection. Hats/sunglasses recommended. Gloves will be provided, but we will be getting dirty.

Admission Information

Open to all students at UNLV. Some students will need to help carpool themselves or others, but transportation will be provided for 10 people.
