Join us for Queer Mini-Con: In Our Words. Organized by UNLV’s Student Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and the Gender Care Team (GCT), Queer Mini-Con is a biannual event that highlights LGBTQ+ voices from a variety of backgrounds.

Schedule

  • 10 a.m: Judy Bowenweiner: “Equality for All Activist” – A dynamic conversation with trans activist Judy Bowenweiner.
    • Location: Auditorium
  • 11:15 a.m.: Lunch provided to attendees
  • 12:00 p.m.: How We Tell Our Stories – Authentic storytelling with a panel of speakers representing all ages and identities. Panelists will include authors/poet, researchers, and more, focusing on LGBTQ+ voices. 
    • Location: Lobby
  • 1:30 p.m.: Say it Out Loud: A Poetry Slam –Sign up to share your own poem or a poem by a LGBTQ+ poet, or listen to others.
    • Location: Exhibition Galleries
Queer Mini-Con: In Our Words takes place at the Marjorie Barrick Museum of Art on October 21, 2025, from 10 a.m.–3 p.m. Attendance is free and everyone is welcome. The event is presented in partnership with CAPS and GCT.
