Description
The Women's Research Institute is hosting a "MAKERS" Screening and Panel Discussion. The event will feature a 30-minutte episode of the PBS documentary "MAKERS: Women in Nevada," which profiles pioneering women throughout Nevada's history, followed by a panel discussion. Panelists are community organizers, politicians, and special guest of the documentary:
*Barbara Buckley: Former Speaker/Nevada Assembly & Executive Director: Legal Aid Center of S. Nevada
* Tameka Henry: CCSD Board of Trustees & Founder of Adobo Collective
*Layla Muhammad: Executive Producer, City Cast Las Vegas
*Caitlin Shea: Inaugural Director of Development for the forthcoming Las Vegas Museum of Art
*Claytee White: Features in MAKERS documentary & Founder: In Living History LLC
With opening remarks from Joanne Goodwin, professor emerita & founding director of the Women's Research Institute of Nevada.
