Description

Jesse Fitts and James Woodbridge, Dept. of Philosophy, UNLV—We present a Cantorian objection, drawn from the work of Patrick Grim, to the recent theories of propositions developed by Jeffrey C. King and Scott Soames. While King’s and Soames’s theories escape certain familiar challenges that confront traditional accounts of propositions, only the traditional accounts can avoid the Grim situation that plagues the former. We conclude that these newer theories are unsustainable.
