This talk delivered by Felicity Vabulas highlights from Exit from International Organizations, a book that examines IO exit across 198 countries, 534 IOs, and more than 100 years of history. The book demonstrates that exit is often the results of negotiation and is indeed costly – it has negative reputational and cooperative consequences for existing states.
