Description
This training course is designed to cover topics in general laboratory safety including personal protective equipment, the proper use of chemical fume hoods, hazardous chemical usage and storage, hazard communication, proper waste segregation and waste disposal, proper gas cylinder use, and spill and emergency response.
Audience
All laboratory personnel (principal investigators [PIs], post-docs, graduate and undergraduate students, visiting researchers, volunteer researchers, etc.) working in areas where chemicals, biological agents, radiological hazards, lasers, industrial machinery, and/or nanomaterials are used or stored. This initial training is required to be completed prior to commencing work in the laboratory.
