In co-sponsorship with the Graduate College, Brookings Mountain West is pleased to offer a workshop with Brookings Senior Fellow, Dr. Vanda Felbab-Brown. Felbab-Brown’s research focuses on drugs and other illicit economies, terrorism, and conflict management. A graduate of MIT University (PhD in Political Science), Felbab-Brown served as an Assistant Professor in the Security Studies Program at Georgetown University. In this informative and interactive workshop, Felbab-Brown will discuss terrorism and narcotics policies globally, experience working in various countries and in think-tanks to curate data-based research, and how best to prepare for a career in public policy, government, and beyond. 

By participating in this workshop you will:

  • Better understand counter narcotics policy in the United States and abroad 
  • Learn how to synthesize research and policy
  • Lean about the policy-influencing/policy-making career paths
