Office/Remote Location

Corner of Donald Nelson & Rio Vista

Description

Volunteer with the UNLV Birding and Conservation Club and UNLVolunteers Rainbow Owl Preserve to help clean out owl burrows!

We will use shovels to remove dirt above the nest chamber, remove debris or plants blocking the chamber, and get dirty. Please bring gloves, water, appropriate clothing for getting dirty and remember to wear sunscreen. This will also be a great opportunity for owl viewing and identification of owl signs (pellets, bones, white wash, feathers, etc.).

We will meet on the corner of Donald Nelson & Rio Vista (Rainbow Owl Preserve isn't on maps). This event will run from 9 a.m. to around 2 p.m. (8 a.m. for carpooling members) with food afterwards. Please email birding@unlv.edu or erica.mann@unlv.edu for carpooling. The van will take up to 10 volunteers, others can carpool together.
