Description

In co-sponsorship with the Graduate College, Brookings Mountain West is pleased to offer a workshop with Brookings Fellow, Aaron Klein. Mr. Klein’s research focuses on financial regulation, macroeconomics, and infrastructure policy. A graduate of Princeton University (M.P.A in Economics and Public Finance), Klein served as the Deputy Assistant Secretary for Economic Policy and Policy Coordination at the US Department of the Treasury. Currently, Klein serves as the Policy Director for the Center on Regulation and Markets. In this roundtable discussion, Klein will discuss the logistics of financial policy and how those policies impact the daily lives of those who use them. Additionally, Klein’s experience in working for the federal government and in think-tanks gives him the expertise for how best to prepare for a career in public policy, government, and beyond.

By participating in this workshop you will:

  • Better understand the importance of financial regulation
  • Learn how to synthesize research and policy
  • Lean about the policy-influencing/policy-making career paths
