In co-sponsorship with the UNLV Honors College, Brookings Mountain West is pleased to offer a morning conversation with Brookings Senior Fellow in Foreign Policy, Dr. Vanda Felbab-Brown, as part of the "Breakfast with A Brookings Scholar" series. Felbab-Brown's work focuses on international and internal conflict, and her research addresses nontraditional security threats, organized crime, urban violence, drug and wildlife trafficking, and illicit economies in a number of places (Afghanistan, South Asia, Burma, Indonesia, the Andean region, Mexico, Morocco, Somalia, and eastern Africa). She is eager to speak with students about her fieldwork and research areas, experience working in think-tanks, and how best to prepare for a career in public policy.
