Description

"An Isotopic Approach to Examining Mobility & Social Organization during the Bronze Age Climatic Transition in SE Arabia"

The rapid aridification of southeastern Arabia at the end of the Early Bronze Age (ca. 2000 BCE coincided with major changes to the archaeological record throughout the region. However climate change has rarely been directly observed in the bodies of the people who themselves experienced it. In this talk, Lesley Gregoricka will examine both mortuary and multi-isotopic evidence for local responses to climate change at the Shimal Necropolis in the United Arab Emirates.
