Description
This 90-minute, hands-on training introduces UNLV faculty and staff to commonly available AI tools, including ChatGPT, Google Gemini, Notebook LM, and Khanmigo, with an outside demo of Claude. Participants will explore settings for safety and privacy, practice side-by-side comparisons of tools, and engage in activities to examine bias, ethics, and appropriate use in teaching and research. By the end, attendees will leave with practical strategies to experiment with AI in their own professional contexts.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Identify the key features, strengths, and limitations of major AI tools available at UNLV.
- Adjust privacy and customization settings in at least one AI platform to promote safe and secure use.
- Compare outputs across multiple AI tools to evaluate differences in tone, depth, and accuracy.
- Recognize potential bias in AI-generated content and apply strategies to foster more equitable use in academic settings.
