UNLV Early Outreach, housed in the Office of Admissions, carries out its mission of “Raising Rebels” through community programming targeting students and families in elementary, middle, and early high school. We aim to create a college-going culture in our community to increase understanding of the college admission process, as well as contribute to the development of students who are prepared and excited to enter college upon their graduation from high school. In this way, Early Outreach supports UNLV’s mission to promote community well-being and individual achievement through education, research, scholarship, creative activities, and clinical services. Although UNLV Early Outreach provides services to all community members, efforts are particularly targeted toward students from underrepresented groups, including ethnic minorities and students from low-income homes.
UNLV Early Outreach understands that Clark County is made up of many culturally diverse communities with unique characteristics and needs. Thus, we are engaged in multiple community outreach programs and work collaboratively with a wide variety of community-based organizations. Over the past 11 years, we have established strong partnerships with local schools and community organizations who are committed to cultivating new ideas to engage and educate youth, encourage youth to invest in their future and become aware of the diverse career opportunities offered in their communities, and provide opportunities for learning and engagement for children in vulnerable economic and family situations. UNLV Early Outreach is committed to helping students and families envision and experience success both now and in the future.
