This certificate program provides students with the necessary foundational knowledge in technology commercialization. Students will learn the fundamentals of engineering technology, engineering economics, how to create business plans, and the steps required to commercialize and launch a technology into markets by creating a technology commercialization plan.

Learning Outcomes

Upon completing the certificate program, a graduate will be able to:

  • Describe the fundamentals of engineering technology.
  • Give examples of the skills and experiences needed for planning business operations and marketing plans.
  • Identify and explain basic engineering economic principles.
  • Execute the steps required to commercialize and launch a technology into markets by creating a TechCom Plan.

Career Possibilities

The knowledge of technology commercialization is extremely important in the fast changing world dominated by new technologies pervading our lives. Students will be able to apply this new knowledge to enhance their career opportunities or start their own company by bringing a new technology to market.
