WHAT: The 11th Annual Summit on Nevada Education will gather education and community leaders, researchers, and educators to discuss progress in many education and mental health areas throughout the state. 

 

Thanks to our sponsor, Silver State Schools Credit Union, the event will celebrate the partnerships and achievements within our communities that represent the most successful paths to sustainable, comprehensive advancements in education and mental health. Presenters will be sharing their ideas and innovations in a variety of areas, including:

  • Supporting workforce development efforts
  • Educator retention and advancement
  • Providing mental health supports to students in rural communities
  • Charter and private school choice

 

A highlight of this year’s event will be inducting the second class of inductees into the College of Education Hall of Fame. Honorees include:

  • Dale Erquiaga, former NSHE Chancellor, longtime education advocate
  • Carolyn Reedom, groundbreaking education leader
  • Sandy Miller, early childhood and special education advocate
  • Communities in Schools of Nevada, a nonprofit providing education and mental health supports in more than 100 schools sitewide

 

The closing keynote features Dr. Lisa Hinkelman, founder and CEO of Ruling Our 

eXperiences (ROX). The non-profit helps girls take control of their relationships, experiences, and futures. Learn about the research and practice shaping the lives of more than 50,000 girls nationwide.
