Dental education innovator Acadental has committed $50,000 to UNLV’s School of Dental Medicine for an endowed scholarship fund that will support dental students for generations to come.
The permanent endowment reflects Acadental’s mission to advance dental education and empower future dental professionals through innovative training technologies and direct financial support.
“The purpose of establishing the Acadental scholarship is to directly support the next generation of dental professionals by alleviating the financial burdens of dental education,” according to a company statement.
“As educators and students globally rely on our products to hone essential skills, Acadental’s mission remains centered on improving dental education and empowering individuals to excel in their careers. This scholarship aligns with our ongoing commitment to foster excellence in the dental field, ensuring talented and dedicated individuals have access to the resources they need to thrive. Through this gift, we aim to make a tangible difference in shaping the future of dental care by providing both financial assistance and continued innovation in training tools and technologies.”
The scholarship fund will create significant opportunities for students, said Shawn Gerstenberger, dean of the School of Public Health and dental school Officer in Charge.
“Acadental’s commitment strengthens our ability to support talented students who are preparing to become the next leaders in oral health within our state, country, and beyond,” Gerstenberger said. “This endowment not only eases financial burdens for our students, but also reflects the shared dedication to excellence, innovation, and the advancement of dental education.”

Giving back to dental education in the form of a scholarship is consistent with our vision of making better dental professionals in addition to helping with the cost of dental education.”
The endowment will support UNLV dental students every year in perpetuity, helping ensure continued access to vital educational opportunities while reinforcing a culture of academic and clinical excellence.
