Aug. 19, 2026

As departments prepare for the fall semester, please review the following update to the Form I-9 process in Workday.

Effective Aug. 1, 2026, Workday began using an updated version of Form I-9. The updated form is valid through May 31, 2027, and matches the current printable version of Form I–9.

One change is the language for status No. 4. The previous version stated:

  • “A noncitizen … authorized to work until …”

The updated version states:

  • “An alien authorized to work until …”

Forms Submitted Before Aug. 1

If an employee submitted Form I-9 before Aug. 1 but the form was not completed before that date, it cannot be completed as is.

If you encounter a Form I-9 that Workday will not allow you to complete, notify your TH&HCM Support Analyst. The existing Form I-9 will be canceled and a new form will be assigned to the employee.

Remote Part Time Instructors (PTI)

If your PTI will be working remotely from outside Southern Nevada, contact Jared Nitz for assistance with completing Form I-9 in compliance with federal regulations.

Please provide at least 7 to 10 business days’ advance notice for this process.
