Academic faculty members who are new to UNLV, as well as those who want an inspirational boost, are invited to a panel discussion at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 6, in RLL 101.

Topic: Cultivating Your Network of Mentors and Collaborators.

A panel of current faculty will discuss the importance of building a diverse network of mentors and collaborators who can provide guidance, feedback, and opportunities throughout your career. Panelists will share strategies for identifying potential mentors, fostering meaningful collaborations, and leveraging both formal and informal networks to support professional growth and success.

The panel is moderated by Haroon Sahotra, associate vice provost for faculty affairs. Panel members include:

  • Jacimaria Batista, Professor, Dept. of Civil and Environmental Engineering and Construction
  • Eduardo Robleto, Professor, School of Life Sciences
  • Melissa Bowles-Terry, Science Librarian, University Libraries

The discussion will draw from topics in the NCFDD webinar Skill #7 Cultivating Your Network of Mentors and Collaborators. It is strongly recommended that attendees view the webinar to get the most out of the discussion.

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., providing an opportunity for informal networking and conversation before the session begins.
