Academic faculty members who are new to UNLV, as well as those who want an inspirational boost, are invited to a panel discussion at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 10, in BEH 240.

A panel of current faculty will focus address the realities of stress and rejection in academic life and offer strategies for navigating them with resilience. Panelists will share personal experiences and practical techniques for maintaining well-being, reframing setbacks, and developing healthy coping mechanisms that allow new faculty to thrive in a demanding environment.

The panel is moderated by Haroon Sahotra, associate vice provost for faculty affairs. Panel members include:

  • Michelle Paul, Assistant Vice President for Mental & Behavioral Health / Workday Endowed Executive Director, UNLV PRACTICE
  • David Schwartz, UNLV Ombuds
  • Anne Weisman, Director of Well-Being and Integrative Medicine, Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine

Doors will open at 9:30 a.m., providing an opportunity for informal networking and conversation before the session begins.
