UNLV students & faculty at CCDS Conference
Jul. 9, 2025

Students with the UNLV Cyber Clinic had the opportunity to attend and volunteer at the annual Cyber Civil Defense Summit (CCDS) that took place in Washington, D.C. this June.

Hosted by the UC Berkeley Center for Long-Term Cybersecurity (CLTC) this year’s theme was “Collaborative Advantage: Uniting Forces to Achieve More.” The summit brought together a community of cyber defenders, academics, and policymakers with the shared mission of protecting the most vulnerable public infrastructure against cybersecurity threats.

Faculty and members of the UNLV Cyber Clinic have been participating in the conference since its inception in 2023. At the first-ever CCDS, UNLV Computer Science Professor and Cyber Clinic Director, Professor Yoohwan Kim, was a featured panelist, introducing UNLV’s Clinic to a wider audience.

Conferences like CCDS enable Clinic members to network with students and faculty across multiple colleges along with private cybersecurity and government officials, as well as donate their time giving back to an industry that will eventually employ them.

Thanks to multiple funding sources, active clinic members in good standing who are selected to attend conferences can have all their registration and travel fees covered by the Cyber Clinic.
