What are you most proud of from your UNLV experience?

I am most proud of the opportunities I had outside the classroom, particularly working on a grant program that allowed me to teach high school students about college success. I also held leadership roles such as treasurer of the graduate student organization and president of the Black Graduate Student Association, which helped me develop professional skills and confidence.

What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were a student?

If I could give my past self advice, it would be to recognize that career paths are unpredictable. While planning is important, life often takes unexpected turns that can lead to fulfilling opportunities. What may seem like a setback can actually be a step forward.

Why should alumni stay engaged at UNLV?

Alumni should stay engaged with UNLV because our community is growing, yet still tightly connected. Alumni can contribute to the development of future leaders, support current students, and help shape the community. Staying connected also allows alumni to play a role in shaping the future of Southern Nevada and leaving a lasting impact on the region.
