Name: Jonah Shulman
Degree: ‘22 Ph.D. Curriculum & Instruction (Math Education)
Current Employer: CCSD/UNLV
What was a unique class you took?
I had to take two from Dr. Travis Olson and Dr. Micah Stohlman; they helped me redefine what a math classroom looked like, and that's when I really started thinking I can do this differently. I always try to do stuff differently.
What was your most memorable event you participated in?
I liked going to the summer league games. That was cool. I also liked when they first opened the football stadium. I went and saw some of the UNLV football games. Those, I think, are very great.
What advice do you have for current UNLV students?
If they're a new person trying to go into the education field, treat a kid every day like it's your first day meeting them because they could have a bad day and they could be in a bad place. You have to let them know that this is a new day, and you think they can do it. Otherwise, you're never going to be able to get far, in my opinion.
