What are you most proud of from your UNLV experience?
Graduating college is what I’m most proud of, especially being the first in my family to do so. Playing football while managing school gave me discipline and a strong sense of responsibility. What makes it even more meaningful is the example I set for my family, many of whom are now pursuing college and athletic scholarships themselves. That ripple effect is something I hold close.
What are the most sought-after skills in your field right now?
The ability to genuinely connect with students. Understanding what motivates them and showing that you care can completely change the learning environment. Building those relationships isn't something you learn from a textbook; it comes from being present, authentic, and approachable. That’s what makes a real difference in education.
What are some key aspects of campus culture that helped prepare you for the professional world?
A big one was the sense of belonging. As an out-of-state student, I felt welcomed and respected. That positive environment helped build my confidence and made me proud to represent UNLV. It wasn’t just about going to class; I wanted to be there, and that sense of pride carried over into my professional life.
