The Department of Native American Affairs (DNAA) serves as Nevada’s official liaison between the state government and the 28 Tribal Nations, Bands, and Colonies throughout the state. With roots dating back to 1965, DNAA works to improve the quality of life for Native communities and urban Indian populations through advocacy, intergovernmental relations, and resource coordination.
Clark County School District Indian Education Opportunities Program (IEOP)
The Indian Education Opportunities Program at CCSD offers academic and cultural support for eligible American Indian and Alaska Native students across Clark County. From summer programs and student advocacy to cultural resource preservation and family engagement, IEOP supports Indigenous youth by helping them thrive in and beyond the classroom.
Las Vegas Indian Center (LVIC)
The Las Vegas Indian Center is a nonprofit organization that empowers Indigenous individuals and families through culturally grounded services. LVIC offers employment programs, housing support, energy efficiency projects, voter education through Native Vote, and digital equity initiatives—all designed to uplift urban Native communities in the Las Vegas area.
Nevada Native American Student Fee Waiver
The Nevada Native American Student Fee Waiver allows eligible students who are members of federally recognized Tribes with historical ties to Nevada to attend any Nevada System of Higher Education (NSHE) institution—like UNLV—tuition-free. This initiative supports educational access and equity for Native students, reinforcing Nevada’s commitment to honoring its Tribal Nations.
Students must meet residency and academic requirements, and provide documentation of Tribal affiliation.
IndigenousAF
IndigenousAF (IAF Inc.) is a nonprofit based in Las Vegas that celebrates and strengthens Indigenous culture through art, education, and community events. Founded in 2020, IAF supports artists, youth, and cultural workers by creating platforms for visibility, creative expression, and intergenerational learning. From hosting events like Mexica New Year to partnering with local dancers, educators, and national funders, IAF bridges tradition and innovation to build a more empowered future for Indigenous peoples in Southern Nevada and beyond.
Native Voters Alliance of Nevada (NVAN)
Native Voters Alliance Nevada (NVAN) is the only Native-led 501(c)(4) advocacy organization in the state, working to build lasting political power for Indigenous communities. By mobilizing voters, endorsing candidates, and advancing Indigenous-centered policy, NVAN ensures Native voices shape local, state, and federal decisions. From defending sacred lands like Avi Kwa Ame to pushing for Indigenous Peoples’ Day and environmental protections, NVAN blends community action with political strategy to protect sovereignty, land, and future generations.
Inter-tribal Council of Nevada (ITCN)
Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada (ITCN) is a nonprofit consortium representing all 28 Tribal Nations, Bands, and Colonies in Nevada. Established in 1963, ITCN advocates for tribal sovereignty, cultural preservation, and equitable access to education, healthcare, and economic opportunity. Guided by a board of Tribal Chairpersons, ITCN administers critical federal and state programs while promoting unity, visibility, and self-determination for Nevada’s Indigenous communities.
