UNLV was among just eight universities in the nation to earn funding this year as part of a unique National Science Foundation program that helps institutions with strong research portfolios accelerate the pace of promising innovations. The university’s Office of Economic Development will receive nearly $6 million over the next four years to expand programming and personnel, and create new funding opportunities for UNLV entrepreneurs. UNLV was also recently designated as an Innovation and Economic Prosperity institution by the Association of Public & Land Grant Universities (APLU). The award goes to universities noted by APLU as leaders in working with public and private partners to spark innovation and propel regional economic development.
