#UNLVWelcome

  • UNLV Creates 2020

Virtual UNLV Creates is the official kickoff to Welcome Weeks and is on Friday before classes begin. This annual academic ceremony welcomes new students and their families to our community, educates them about transformative opportunities, and highlights faculty creativity and discovery. This event includes an academic convocation, a formal university welcoming event, for all incoming students. During the ceremony, students will pledge to graduate from UNLV. This honored tradition signifies the beginning of a successful college career.

  • Five Things to Know About Returning to Campus

When we come back to UNLV during the COVID-19 pandemic, we’ll have to adopt new behaviors to keep each other safe. Here are five things you should know: 1 - Signs. Look for signs posted throughout campus and follow their instructions carefully. 2 - Masks. Masks are required for everyone on campus in outdoor and indoor public spaces. 3 - Social Distancing. Masks are not a substitute for social distancing. It takes both to stop the spread. Public spaces have been altered to help maintain social distancing. 4 - Social interaction. At this time, staying apart is the best way to show you care. Greet friends and colleagues with a wave instead of a hug or handshake. Arrange virtual meetings or study groups. Avoid crowded spaces. 5 - Mindset. We are all navigating these guidelines for the first time, so confusion and conflicts may arise.
