The Science & Engineering Building has several event spaces that may be used by UNLV Departments, Colleges and Student Organizations. The spaces are primarily promoted for users in the science and engineering fields relating to research, although all requests for events shall be considered.

Once the policy has been reviewed, fill out the pdf request form provided below and email to VPREDEvents@unlv.edu and seb@unlv.edu. The VPR of Events, Leslie Rafalovich, will contact you to discuss event details and confirm reservation and fees.

For a general overview of the event fees, you may refer to the Event Fees form provided below. Additional charges may apply based on the requirements of the event.

Space Availability

All events are limited to Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No weekends, evenings or holidays are permitted. During spring and fall semesters, classrooms are available on a very limited basis Monday through Friday, however, the auditorium is usually available on Fridays. The lobby is available Monday through Friday, but the type of event and number of people may be restricted from Monday through Thursday when classes are in session.

Auditorium

  • SEB-1311 (208 capacity)
  • No food or beverages (except water) allowed in the auditorium.
  • Audio Visual includes resident PC and laser pointer, projector, laptop connection (VGA), document camera, DVD, Blue Ray, VHS, and whiteboard.
  • Lectern with microphone, Podium with microphone, 4 wireless microphones (lapel or hand-held).

Classrooms

  • SEB-1240 (40 capacity), 1242 (68 capacity), 1243 (68 capacity), 1245 (30 capacity)
  • Prior approval is required for food and beverage (except water) allowed in classrooms.
  • Audio Visual includes resident PC and laser pointer, projector, laptop connection (VGA), document camera, DVD, Blue Ray, VHS, and whiteboard.
  • Lectern with microphone.

Lobby

  • 2250 sq. ft. open lobby space
  • Events have included conferences, poster sessions, ceremonies, cocktail receptions, guest speakers and more.
  • Resources: stage with backdrop, mic’s podium, portable PA system, I-pod, wireless microphones, large round tables, tall cocktail tables, 6’ catering tables, deluxe folding chairs, poster walls.

Conference Rooms

The SEB has 7 conference rooms that seat 10-24 people and offer audio visual equipment such as:

  • Flat-screen monitors, laptop connection (VGA), DVD, VHS, and whiteboard (some restrictions apply).
  • These rooms may be utilized in conjunction with your requested event should space be available.

General Concerns

SEB Facilities are available to reserve for meetings and events by University colleges and departments and registered student organizations. All events in SEB are limited to Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. No weekends, evenings or holidays are allowed.

Tables, chairs, linens and various other equipment are available to rent for events in SEB. However, set-up and tear-down of these items will be the responsibility of the requestor. If Tech services are required, requests should be made with OIT. SEB no longer has the appropriate staff available to assist with this process.
