Anjala Krishen

Dr. Anjala S. Krishen, Associate Professor of Marketing at UNLV, has a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Rice University, and an M.S. Marketing, MBA, and Ph.D. from Virginia Tech. Krishen held several management positions during a 13-year career before pursuing a doctorate. Her interdisciplinary, multi-domain, mixed-methods research includes decision making, e-marketing and social media, and advertising and interactive marketing. As of 2018, she has over 50 published peer reviewed journal papers, which appear in high level journals such as Journal of Business Research, European Journal of Marketing, Journal of Advertising Research, and Psychology & Marketing. She has received numerous awards for her work including the UNLV Foundation Distinguished Teaching award (2015), the Barrick Scholar award (2016), and the Harold and Muriel Berkman Research Grant Award (2016). In early 2016, she gave a TEDx talk at UNR titled, “Opposition: The light outside of the dark box,” which discusses the role that opposition plays in our lives. Later in 2016, she gave a UNLV Creates speech based on her pedagogical research entitled, “Consuming to Creating, Watching to Doing, Seeing to Being.” She has completed over 55 marathons, 7 ultramarathons, recently finished her third 100 miler, and holds a black belt in Taekwondo.
