Tiffany Schmier

Biography
Tiffany earned her undergraduate degree in communication studies and her graduate degrees in education at UNLV. Tiffany enjoys working with students from all different majors and ensuring they know about the many campus resources available to them as they pursue their degree. She has been involved with both the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and the UNLV Academic Advising Council in many capacities. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family and cats, working on her blog, and taking road trips to the beach when possible!
Advising Philosophy Statement
In terms of advising philosophy, I aim to meet students where they are and provide resources and support to help them reach their next step. As an academic advisor, I try to take a holistic view of my students, taking into account all of their goals, aspirations, needs, and responsibilities. As a first-generation student myself, I understand that college can be overwhelming! I hope to empower my students to face their challenges, reach their goals, and become connected to the UNLV community.
