Biography

Tamia Dow is a founding board member of the UNLV Veterans Alumni Club. Tamia was a cadet in the UNLV Army ROTC program from 1983-1987 and upon graduation received her Bachelor’s Degree In Criminal Justice and her US Army Reserve Commission as a Military Police Officer (1987-1993). Prior to commissioning she served in the 72nd Military Police unit of the Nevada National Guard (1983-1987).

While serving as an Army Reserve Officer, Dow joined the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department as a Police Officer in 1989 where she served her community and retired as a Domestic Violence Detective in 2012. Tamia is a Best Selling Author, an Award Winning Filmmaker, an International Speaker, Trainer and Coach that speaks on topics of leadership and best practices when dealing with vulnerable people such as victims of Sex Trafficking, Domestic Violence and Child Exploitation.

She is an ordained minister holding the title of Chaplain and focuses primarily on serving veterans and first responders.
