Why did you choose the obstetrics and gynecology residency program at the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV?
I chose UNLV because it felt like a place where I could thrive both personally and professionally. During my interview, I was impressed by how supportive, approachable, and invested the residents and faculty were in one another’s success. I wanted a program with a strong sense of community where I would feel comfortable asking questions and seeking help while still being challenged to grow as a physician.
Beyond the culture, I was excited by the opportunity to train in a high-volume program with experience in all OB-GYN subspecialties. I am particularly passionate about family planning and ensuring access to comprehensive reproductive healthcare, so UNLV’s Ryan Program was a major draw. Serving a diverse and underserved patient population was also important to me. Overall, the people, clinical training, and shared values made UNLV the right fit for me.

What are your interests within obstetrics and gynecology?
I’m drawn to several areas within OB-GYN and am still exploring whether I want to pursue fellowship or practice as a generalist. I am passionate about partnering with patients and helping them feel informed, empowered, and in control of their health and bodies.
I’m especially interested in gender-affirming care and hope to provide hormone therapy and surgical care, including hysterectomies. I am also interested in benign gynecology and minimally invasive surgery, particularly caring for patients with chronic pelvic pain.
I also love the fast-paced environment of labor and delivery and the opportunity to support patients through pregnancy, birth, and the transition to parenthood. Caring for patients through different stages of life and building long-term relationships with them is what makes this specialty so meaningful to me.

What is your favorite thing to do in Las Vegas?
I love exploring the Downtown Arts District and taking advantage of Las Vegas’ vibrant music and nightlife scene, whether that’s going to concerts, discovering new venues, or spending a night out with friends.

What is one fun fact about you?
I enjoy making pottery and love spending time at the wheel creating mugs, bowls, and vases.

What is one piece of advice you would give to candidates interested in the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency Program?
Be proud of how far you’ve come! Faculty and residents are excited to get to know you. Reflect on the experiences that shaped you, the patient relationships that were meaningful to you, and the hobbies, passions, and qualities that make you who you are.
